Privacy Policy
Screen Magnifier · Effective date: November 3, 2026
1. Overview
Screen Magnifier (“the App”) is an Android application that helps users enlarge on-screen text, images, and video using a floating magnifier. This policy explains how the App uses screen content and how third-party services may process information.
2. Screen capture and MediaProjection
With your explicit permission through Android's screen-capture prompt, the App uses MediaProjection to capture screen content for real-time magnification. Captured frames are processed for the live magnifier display only. The App does not save screen recordings or screenshots, does not upload captured screen content to a server, and does not share captured screen content with advertisers or other third parties. Capture stops when the magnification session ends or Android revokes permission.
The App does not bypass Android's FLAG_SECURE protection for protected content. Internal overlay handling is intended to prevent recursive magnification of the App's own floating interface.
3. Overlay permissions and foreground services
The App uses Android's “Display over other apps” permission to show its floating controls and magnifier above other applications. It may use foreground services and an ongoing notification while the floating controls or screen magnification are active. These permissions are used to provide user-requested functionality and can be managed through Android settings.
4. Advertising and rewarded ads
The free version may display ads through Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads that grant additional usage time. Google and its advertising partners may process advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location derived from technical signals, ad interactions, diagnostics, and other information depending on device settings, region, and consent choices. Screen-capture frames are not provided to AdMob. For Google's practices, see Google Privacy Policy and Google's advertising guidance.
5. VIP purchases and subscriptions
VIP features may be offered through Google Play Billing. Google processes payments and related purchase information under its own terms and privacy policy. The App may access purchase status and transaction identifiers needed to unlock or restore entitlements. The App does not receive full payment card numbers from Google Play.
6. Local settings and cache
The App may store magnifier preferences, feature settings, and necessary app state locally on your device. You can reset settings and clear app cache using the App's controls. Android may also offer controls for clearing app storage.
7. Data sharing and retention
The App does not retain captured screen content. Local settings remain on your device until removed or reset, subject to Android backup settings and implementation. Advertising and billing data may be retained by Google and its partners according to their own policies. The App does not sell captured screen content.
8. Your choices
You can stop screen sharing, revoke overlay permission, reset local settings, manage ad-consent choices where offered, and manage subscriptions through Google Play. Disabling required permissions may limit the App's functionality.
9. Children and international users
The App's intended audience and regional advertising consent settings must match the selections made in Google Play Console and AdMob. This policy does not claim that the App is designed for children.
10. Security and changes
The App is designed to process captured frames locally for live display. No system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when functionality, SDKs, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when changes are published.
